+Kulbit80 Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 It will be great to see transonic wave in game, for example behind of F-14 or F-18... Generally is it possible to make a mod or .ini files edit to get effect of transonic wave (about mach 0.8–1.2) in the Third Wire series?
Silverbolt Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 No, but for what i understand, TK will work on it.
+Gr.Viper Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 When did he say that? The only thing better that the transsonic wave is the supersonic wave. Test flights on Tu-22 revealed that if it flies supersonic below 4000m the brickwork on the ground cracks.
+FastCargo Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 The 'transonic wave' as it is inaccurately called, only occurs at certain speeds and certain humidity levels. Outside of that, you won't see such a thing. FC
+Gr.Viper Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 (edited) Isn't this sonic boom caused by the evaporation of water from the aiframe? Ah... that's what it's called http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prandtl%E2%80%93Glauert_singularity Edited October 24, 2009 by Gr.Viper
+Kulbit80 Posted October 24, 2009 Author Posted October 24, 2009 Transonic flow patterns on an airfoil.[it's from wiki] If i understand - this is unpredictable and non-linear phenomenon without stable air speed. But it's awesome...
