MIG-21bisD/UMD

I am only curious if anyone is working on the MIG-21bisD or MIG-21UMD mod. Those both models uses the Croatian airforce, and they have updated avionics, including a better HUD and have countermeasures, and fire radar seeking missiles.

Mig-21BisD / LanceR update program

 

Upgraded version for the Romanian Air Force done by Elbit of Israel and Aerostar SA of Romania. The LanceR-A version is optimized for ground attack being able to deliver precision guided munitions of eastern and western origin as well as R-60, R-73 and Python III air to air missiles. The LanceR-B version is the trainer version and the LanceR-C version is the air superiority version featuring 2 LCD MFDs, helmet mounted sight and the Elta EL/M-2032 Air combat radar.

 

BisD is LanceR-A and UMD is LanceR-B version

This is not correct. That was the plan but it didn't end up that way.

All we got from Romanian "upgrade" was new paint, GPS and NATO compatible communication system, and they even managed to F that up so some planes had to be returned for correction.

 

Other than that they are plain old Bis and UM, this is also why it's called BisD and UMD instead of "Lancer".

 

Cockpit is also nearly completely unchanged, we just got the new GPS and comms control panel - that's it.
