TSP AIM-54 Engagement Issue

Hey everyone, new to SF2 and the awesome F-14 Tomcat Super Pack mod. Trouble is, I can't find any reasonable data on what the desired firing parameters for AIM-54's are. I seem to keep getting positive TWS-M lock, with 4, 3, 2, etc, in a head-on supersonic intercept, and yet I won't get a hot trigger light at any range! I just keep hitting my weapon release button and radar lock button and nothing's happening. Any help or experience with intercepts using that mod would be greatly appreciated.

Aaaand just as I had that, my Phoenixes decided to start working. Maybe it was the application of some more burner and a good angle to the target, though I'm still not sure the best method of employment.
