  1. so i just reinstalled WOE and am gonna give it a go. would be curious if there's rough consensus on the "must have" mods, ones that improve the terrain (and any other graphics), the sound, and add great missions & campaigns, as well as improve gameplay in general. also, what's the procedure again for wiping all that hud information (indicator info and subtitles) from the screen? i'd rather rely on my guages to give me that info. thanks!
  2. hmm, WOE won't start now. well the menu screen loads but when i load a game it crashes. here are the changes i made (i didn't change the highdetailoptions): [Display004] DisplayType=RADAR PosX=0.865 PosY=0.015 Width=0.125 Height=0.16666667 Alpha=0.60 InitTime=2.0 and edit it so it looks like this: [Display004] DisplayType=RADAR PosX=0.865 PosY=0.015 Width=0.0 Height=0.0 Alpha=0.60 InitTime=2.0 i also made the change of shortening the message: This is mine. I have reduced the size of the cones and the boxes on enemy targets. Groundtargets are hard to see now when BOXED. The text is smaller as well as the shaded background is gone. I also assigned one to RADAR tracks. Also for the messages on the bottom. I liked to read them but they were too big and on too long. Sooooo..changed the Messagesystem.ini as stated above. TextFontName=Arial TextSize=8 [MessageSystem] MaxMessages=1 MessageTime=0.5 MessageFadeTime=0.5 ;MaxMessages=25 ;MessageTime=200 ;MessageFadeTime=2.5 [MessageWindow] BackgroundImage=//TextBackground.tga TopLeftPosition=0.22,0.90 BottomRightPosition=0.78,0.98 VerticalBorder=0.0015 HorizontalBorder=0.008 ;TopLeftPosition=0.2,0.2 ;BottomRightPosition=0.8,0.985 ;VerticalBorder=0.0015 ;HorizontalBorder=0.008
  3. thanks is there a way to improve track ir performance? seems a bit sluggish/limited
  4. hi all, giving woe a try, and as a noob to the series i was curious if there was a thread devoted to the effective usage of wingmen in woe. i had a bandit locked up on my radar, but my wingman refused to attack (he had aa missiles). also, i noticed when i told a wingie to turn his radar on he kept responding 'no joy' or some such negative, though he was in the same plane as me and had aa missiles. finally, i do not know how to tell them how to attack various ground targets- must i lock the ground target up first? (heh, don't even know how to do that yet, since i got several ground returns on my radar but the same button that acquires an airborne radar return didn't seem to work on ground targets). is there an 'attack general targets' command, so that wingies will attack various enemy structures instead of needing to be told to attack a specific one? thanks.
  5. wingmen usage?

thanks. strange that #2 wouldn't fire on the drone that i'd locked up how then to i target/lock up ground objects?
