O.k., my XPS crashed and I'm in the process of installing everything- fun times.... I downloaded the Weapon Editor off TK's site and for some reason it will not run! Is there a specific directory in needs to go it? I have the latest versions of WOV, WOE and WOI via download from Third Wire... Thanks in advance!

missing weapons

Had the same issue- delete Weapondata.dat, then open Weapondata.ini in the latest Weapon Editor then click on save. Should solve the problem. -

F-4D.LOD File
chiller1064 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Where exactly is the F-4D.LOD file? I'm trying to add the F-4D LORAN mod, which requires the file. Yes, I did a forum search for "F-4D.LOD" with no luck before asking. -
From what I've read on the boards, some of the mods have issues with the new patch- so it is up to the modder to update his work in some cases in order to get things functioning properly. For example, I believe The Mirage Factory guys are updating the NATO Fighters mod in order to make it compatible with the new goodies implimented in the latest update. I believe Wrench or one of the other veterans said it may be preferable to not update beyond the 2006 patch files in order to get things working- like the Korean War mod I had issues with using the OCt 2008 update.

Make sure you also get the latest Weapons Editor from the Third Wire website. With the changes made with the Oct 2008 patch (which should be incorporated into your copy of WOE if you purchased directly from the Third Wire site, otherwise you will have to patch a retail version), you most likely will need the Weapons Editor to correctly add mods. Like everyone says, hit the Knowledge Base ASAP and if something isn't clear- just ask. Everyone here has been where you are now and is willing to assist. But you will find 90% of your questions answered in the KB. Welcome to the wonderful world of Third Wire flight games!

Yep, I was already there, made the edits and no change- that's why I was asking if I missed something in the naming convention. I even pasted Wrench's MiG-29A info into the loadout.ini and no change. If that's the case, and I'm doing this correctly, the problem may actually be with the MiG-29A mod in regards to the new update?

Example in Weapondata.ini: [WeaponData200] TypeName=AA-8 FullName=R-60T AA-8 Aphid-A ModelName=aa-8 Example in MiG-29A Loadout.ini: // Munition Listing ------------------------------------------------- // // Air to Air // // AA-8 // AA-10R // AA-10IR // AA-11 // AA-12 Do I need to use the full name as per the Weapondata.ini? The modelName? TypeName?

Just finished a single mission against a batch of MiG-29As- and noticed that none of them were loaded out with A/A missiles. Granted they were not easy to deal with- but my wingman and I whittled them down at long-range. Anyone else seeing this problem/issue? I know the Russians were short on funds in the 1990s- but no A/A missiles? I did edit the .ini file for the MiG-29A as per a forum posting in regards to changing "WP" to "Soviet"- but that didn't solve this issue. I also have the Mirage Factory Weapon Pack 2.0 installed.

Fubar512, I've installed the MF Weapons Pack over a clean WOE install patched to Oct 2008. Right now the MF Weapons Pack is installed- but the editor starts (after changing the apps compatability setting) and trying to open anything shuts it down. The weapon editor, upon start, does NOT ask to be pointed to anything- regardless if it is sitting in the same directory as the weapondata.ini file is. By all accounts, this should be working....

O.k., run in Windows/System folder- no go. Run in zip/rar format- no go. Yes, I DO check the other forums for assistance as well and I'm not a newbie. I've never, ever had issues like this with Third Wire products in adding aircraft, weapon packs, etc.. Normally, it's just a drag, drop and edit the weapondata.ini file and all is well.

O.k., clean install of WOE, patched to Oct 2008, installed MF Weapon Pack 2.0, installed latest Weapons Editor (placed in Objects folder), went to delete Weapondata.dat..... done. Found weapondata.ini- check there. So far, so good according to you guys. Start Weapon Editor.... and nothing happens. Click on it again.... nothing happens...... Redownloaded weapon editor from TW site, place in Objects folder, click..... nothing happens. Place weapon editor into Objects/Weapons folder, click.... nothing happens. Any suggestions?
