Why would a person unpack the CAT files?

Yeah, I realize FE2 doesn't support multiplayer but I was wondering if there were any for FE gold? Also Peter, what are the benefits of unpacking those CATs?

Also when I tried to fly a mission with the DVa I got da blue screen blues. I suspect I have to copy something and rename it but I am not sure what. Can you help? Jeez I feel like I am taking way too much of your time but I don't know ahat else to do. Don

You are right Peter, I didn't install the scenario file correctly,it works fine now and I love the Vogesen terrain. I had one other anomaly though. I set up a single mission and was flying the DR1 with four others in the flight and we bounced a flight of SE5a's and at the end of the engagement there was one SE5 that was acting strangely. It was just flying around randomly and seemed invulnerable to my guns. I emptied my guns into it at close range, no visable damage no parts falling off, and it just kept flying?!? Any thoughts? Other than that I installed your FM's and really like them a lot.

Good God! Where does one start? I have FE and FE2 and am overwhelmed by all the mods and patches. Is there anyone out there who could give me a general list of what to download? I would like to have the ground war more realistic and to have a few more of the popular planes. A zeppelin would be nice and a mission editor so I could make my own missions. I think primarily FE2 to start. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I guees I either asked the wrong questions, or none of the 60+ viewers knew the answers. In any case never mind I'll figure it out myself.

Another question: The Spad 7's aiming reticle doesn't center on where the bullets hit. Is this intentional?

Gentlemen, I have a few questions regarding FE2. First, why does the Spad 13 and maybe other platforms(I'm not sure as I have only flown FE2 for a few sorties) have a blocked out portion of your field of view when you look left rear? Right rear doesn't have it. Second, Is there a mission editor as some of the stock missions seem pointless at best. Third in customizing the hat views there is no provision for a rear that is 180 degree "snap" view". If you are going to have a 180 view why not have it as a snap? My only experience with WW2 combat flight sims was with "Dawn of Aces" and it seemed to me that the view system in DoA was quite satisfactory. Is there a way to mod the rear view to snap rear view? Other than these minor points I am satisfied with the sim. One other thing though, is multiplayer possible at all with FE2? And lastly I know this is a subjective question, is there a list of mods and addons that enhances the sim to the nth degree? Thank you for your time and trouble.
