I guess going to hell basically with a piece of hardware somehow bonds one to it...i bought my very first "real" PC and the Cyborg 3D back when i was in the military for MW4 and Il2 (the very first release^^)...in the aftermath i bite myself not to went for a Thrustmaster HOTAS, i think it even wasnt released back then, army was so much better payment for just doing a minor bit of bureauwork and way more coffee cooking ...my respect to anyone who served anyhow actively in any nations military, i dont think if i could have done that, but luckily i didnt had to, here in germany you have only to go to "real" military duty with action etc if you signed up for 4+ years or so, just served the time i had to+ 6 month for the cash... OK back to topic: the Fly 5 has 2 drawbacks compared to the old cyborg, the throttle cant be access using the stick left-handed, and its base isnt as stable as the old Cyborg...but i think it even is quite cool to transport in a backpack!^^ Im not doubting you here, but the stick is only 6 month old or so and very rarely used so far, and im like 99.9% sure its not a issue with the stick or its buttons because with the fire selected weapon issue, no matter to what button i assign it to the ingame control panel recognizes each button, but ingame it simply doesnt do it whats its supposed to....and the issue with when i assign any button to select next AA weapon that thrust vector control also gets assigned to same key, here im almost sure its game related! I will give TKs fix a try, if that doesnt work i simply reinstall the game...i also may have broken the install/saves/mods, as i said earlier im back to square 0 with the whole understanding of the game structure and esp how to change stuff the way i prefer it ! Its just that it took me some days to get the mods i need for a arab campaign + flyable migs to get some modding practise, it worked so far, so the joystick problems are just a bit frustrating... Fun thing is after downloading a RJAF Hunter from paulopanzer, i was quite surprised to read my old nickname here on CA in the credits in the readme ! Totally forgot i made this Killmarkmod for the arab nations back in 2008...and i even remembered the password, is it possblie to delete this account? For id like to use my old account, just need to change the email adress there, and i guess it isnt allowed to have multiple accounts here because i could circumvent the 2 DLs a day limit?

Fun thing is, i had a Saitek Cyborg 3D, really was kinda cheap price but it did its Job for several years back in the old IL2 days....first of all what made it cool was the lefthanded option, later i upgraded to Saitek X45 HOTAS and you know what? I ended up using the X45 throttle stick + Cyborg 3D ...Thats the reason i went for a Saitek again, for another game but mainly because of my experience and the fact that its not that expensive which is a important factor for me sadly... Reminds me of digging out the X45 lol...i envy all you thrustmaster HOTAS owners, i really finally should save some money for one, heard so much good stuff about those...problem with X45 was the crappy rudder control on the throttle and the joystick itself....wasnt my thing i guess or it wasnt rigthly configured or i simply didnt tried or practised hard enough, problem was at that time i was so used to the cyborg(5-7 years or so) thats why i ended up using the cyborg+ x45 throttle, maybe i do that again with the new cyborg! Another thing with all HOTAS sticks is, they are not really good for left handed people that was also a major problem back in those days; i guess i was just to used to left handed stick...good thing now is that i havent played any FS for around 5 years or so and despite being lefthanded there are some things i cant use with left hand like scissors or PC mouse ...but joysticks i can use with both equally, just a matter of getting used to it! After reading your replys i also realised im back to square 0 with Strike fighter "usage", for instance this weird merged install totally confused me so far esp those multiple saves and the fact mods now go to the saves folders with SF2...opens enough questions for me for several new topics... @ianh755&Wrench: After posting i read in TW forums about this fix and even downloaded it, but no time so far to test it(not at home atm). Editing the ini directly poses the question that i dont know how exactly the names for each button/axis are with the new cyborg...the weird thing is in the in-game controls panel everthings looks ok, so i guess it did "take"... About that AircraftObject.ini, that could be, but cant check that atm...wasnt this ini like a general one where each plane had a entry in the aircraft or was it in the campaigns/terrains folders? Jeez i really feel like a total n00b, i forgot most about SF-modding @EricJ: I heard alot good about the Logitech 3D, but isnt that one out of production or so?

Hey All! After a 5 years break from SF i bought the SF2 titles...but i got a quite weird problem! I use a Saitek Cyborg FLY 5 stick, but no matter how i config it, it wont let me fire any rockets and other stuff If i assign select next AA weapon, same button is also assigned to vector thrust and more severe if i have selected AA rocket, it wont fire it no matter on what button ive assigned fire selected weapon! Also Fire primary weapon button doesnt fire the guns, but secondary weapon does? Also primary and secondary weapon doesnt fire selected rockets?!? Im trying to solve this for 3 days now, and im at a loss here, so anyone else use the same stick and is willing to share their joystick config? Best Regards, Horus3K
