  1. I added 2 user created terrains to my SF2: Europe mod folder: Germany, Central Europe and Iceland 2.0. These folders show up under my saved games/ThirdWire/SF2:Europe/Terrains folder Question: When I go to create a mission in SF2:E, it allows me to pick my mission map and it has two choices for Iceland: Iceland, Full Terrain 2.0 and Iceland NA, which I assume are the mod and default terrain respectfully. For Germany, I only have one terrain: Germany, Central Europe. Should there always be a un-modded or default terrain as a choice? Second Question: When I run a campaign, I don't get a choice of what map to use. I assume it always uses the default map, correct? Thanks Chuck
  2. I assume the campaign is automatically saved? There is a save mission button after you fly a mission, but is that for just that mission in case you wanted to fly it again in the single mission tab? The reason I ask is tonight I flew a very long mission in the Red Thunder campaign, and died from a SAM launch 20 miles from base. I previously completed a number of missions successfully. I didn't have any desire to re-fly the mission immediately. If I select "re-fly", but I exit the game, where does that leave me (in terms of campaign time) when I reload the campaign later on? I don't think I want to hit accept, since it says the campaign is over. I hope this makes sense.
  3. I downloaded the campaign editor and I am able to use a number of planes in each campaign. Is there a way to change the "available stores" in the campaign? I do remember coming across a relevant post when searching the forums to answer a question about changing planes in the campaign, but I can't seem to find that post. I know it involves extracting the campaign data with the extraction tool, but if anyone can give me details or point me to the right post I would appreciate it.
  4. I have been searching the database about "merging" files, and I think I understand it, but still had a few questions. I have SF2:E and SF2:NA. I always use my SF2:E exe when playing and have always added mods to the SF2:E save games folders, essentially for lack of knowing any better. The way I am going I will certainly continue to add games, and I am in the process of downloading Israel. My understanding is if I keep doing what I am doing, I will still be able to run Israel terrain/aircraft/campaigns from within my SF2:E exe. My question is: is there any advantage to adding the SF2:NA and SF2:I exe's to my desktop, and adding mods directly to those save game folders, instead of using the Europe exe? The way I'm doing it seems simpler but I have read differing opinions while searching the boards. Thanks. Chuck
  5. Thanks! So more from an organizational point of view, not a requirement. One issue I see is that I like to fly latest generation jets across various terrains. I can my use my Europe install for all terrains and mods, but use my new Israeli install to install only cold war jets, etc. maxing and matching as I wish.
  6. Not trying to be argumentative, just a new guy trying to understand: If I added all the Israeli "various and sundry bits" to the SF2:E saved game file (i.e. the mod file), wouldn't I still be able to fly during the War of Independence if I selected that theater/campaign? Is something inherently incompatible or is something overwritten? Thanks again.
  7. Flying the F-4, F-14 and F/A 18 with carrier and ground landings, and wondering if any of these birds has ILS modeled. If they do, how do I call it up?
  8. Do carriers have an ILS system modeled in SF2?
  9. Never mind, it's the ' key. I was looking for a keystroke with NAV in the name, not CAGED. Thanks.
  10. Which key would that be?
  11. Just started SF2 after playing DCS for some time. I am interested in a dual role fighter/attack plane and I loaded up the F-18 from the Hornet Team. Question about laser guided and optical munitions- do I just load them in the loadout and the MFD's come up when they are active? Is it as simple as that?
  12. Thanks again, Eric. I'll stick to LGB until I can get the "feel" of the JDAM's.
  13. Eric: I read your A_G tutorial but I'm only getting my JDAM's to hit the right target 50% of the time. Basically, I'm selected the primary target with E and dropping about 6 miles out from 6-8 thousand feet. Any thoughts?
  14. Gotcha. Just downloaded SF2:NA. Is it as simple as opening the editor, adding a carrier, that selecting it for take off?
  15. Thank you. Is there any way to add a carrier object to SF2:E?
  16. Thanks guys! Eric: ever use your F/A-18 for carrier ops, and how did you do it? Downloading Rends Germany terrain mod, but I assume it would be best to purchase one of the other games (vietnam? NA?) to use the carrier. Chuck
  17. What is the best FLAIR pod to use?
  18. Thanks again. I'm going to stick with your Super Hornet which is working great.
  19. Just downloaded your Super Hornet and it is working like a charm. Thanks.
  20. I downloaded a AGM-65 package from the site so I know that various versions are available in my install (weapons folder), but not showing up as an option on my loadout. Is the loadout plane specific??
  21. Eric: Just found your Super Hornet. Downloading now. Thanks again!
  22. Thanks Eric! I'm flying the the Hornet Team's F/A-18 and don't see an option for ADM-65 (Mavericks). Does each plane have restrictions to certain weapons and can you override this?
