Sound problem

Recommended Posts

I have a new WOV install & applied the 3 patches, & nothing else. I can't hear inside engine , or weapon sounds. I have no sound card problems in any other sims. Any help appreciated.

I too am having sound issues. I bought SF (ValuSofts) about two years ago played it and boxed it back up for lack of immersion and now from reading about it on this forum, I decided to load and patch it up, due to all of the new features and new life this sim has received. I have played it online with others a couple times and its quite enjoyable. I just wish I could figure out why I have no exterior plane sounds?? Also still cant get an exterior camera view of plane. Only flyby and such. Would also like to be able to look around in the cockpit with the mouse instead of the joy hat.

Most important of these three issues to me is the sound. I have tried all the menu settings --16, 24, 32 etc...

Maybe someone has a FAQ, or link to one that might give us some pointers on the problem.

My appreciation to this community for all the modding and hard work, time and help given.

Thanks,

ALF

Sidewinder,

Thank you for your quick response and the link. Wow! I was lost with all the technical jargon and much reading but it resulted in a resolution, as far as my sound issue. It got me to thinking about the EAX issue such as the one in IL-2. I quickly switched to my EAX setting for that Sim and presto! Exterior sounds.

I'm sure the rest will come with the learning curve of this engine.

Much appreciated.

Bobd,

I'm not sure we suffer the same fate -- as your sound issues seem of a different nature -- but and if your using a creative card try turning off / tweaking EAX or making some adjustments in that area. Speaker setup etc...
