Mig15 Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Well I have managed to install the weapons pack, new aircraft, effects etc. I want to install the patches but when I try to run them I get a ?could not open file WoV.? Message. Can anyone tell me why? I am running a pirated copy of WoV as I live in Thailand and that is all that is available. Seems to work OK ? but it does crash when I try to exit and change aircraft ? patch 3 addresses this problem I think. Some aircraft that I have seem to work alright but have no cockpit. I have put some new skins into other skin programs so I know you can do that but I can?t put another cockpit into another aircraft eg. A A6 Intruder cockpit to replace the missing one in the F111. Are there any generic cockpits that will fit into any aircraft? Thanks Quote

Check the version date bottom right of the main screen (v07.05.05 is the latest) as your copy may already be patched to a certain level. It is possible that your pirated copy is the problem - you really should try to obtain a legal copy to support the developer. Some aircraft that I have seem to work alright but have no cockpit. You can put any cockpit into any aircraft (that's how you turn an AI aircraft into a flyable) but you have to add the lines in the .ini to call it as well as simply adding the image files. Quote
Mig15 Posted February 1, 2006 Author Posted February 1, 2006 Yes, I plan to get a copy of SF when I go back to the UK in the summer it dose not seen to be available here. I don?t know how to add the lines in the .ini ? I would be very grateful if someone could run me through what I need to do. Thanks for your help! Quote
BUFF Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 If you looked in the sticky http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=8786 you would have found an example: "Flying New (previously non-flyable) Aircraft Previously non-flyable aircraft can be flown as follows. MajorLee has a flyable SU-7B. Say you want to fly the Mig-21Mf, which is in \Strike Fighters\Objects\Aircraft\MiG-21MF Open the *.INI file in that folder. It will look like this: [AircraftData] AircraftFullName=MiG-21MF Fishbed-J AircraftDataFile=MiG-21MF_data.ini LoadoutFile=MiG-21MF_loadout.ini Change it to look like this: [AircraftData] AircraftFullName=MiG-21MF Fishbed-J AircraftDataFile=MiG-21MF_data.ini CockpitDataFile=F-104G_cockpit.ini HangarScreen=MiG-21MF_hangar.bmp LoadoutImage=MiG-21MF_loadout.bmp LoadoutFile=MiG-21MF_loadout.ini The MiG-21MF will use the F-104G cockpit. Now use the hangar.bmp and loadout.bmp files from MajorLee’s flyable Su-7, and rename them MiG-21MF_hangar.bmp and MiG-21MF_loadout.bmp, in the MiG21MF subdirectory. That's all. The MiG-21MF will now be selectable." Quote
Mig15 Posted February 1, 2006 Author Posted February 1, 2006 Thanks a lot Buff. I actually managed to do the cockpit switch myself! Now have all aircraft with some sort of cockpit. Thanks again! Quote
