Heck

I thought I'd have problems, but...

Recommended Posts

The new patch runs as smooth as glass on my middle of the road system, and it's a flipping laptop to boot. Even with heavy air traffic, heavy AAA, and broken clouds, it runs like there's no change (that includes all graphics functions set to max, except shadows). How'd Third Wire do this? I've had other flight sims on this system (they shall remain nameless) that stuttered like an acne laden kid on his first date with a girl. Unbelieveable. Haven't tried any mods yet, just wanted to see if it would even run on this system, but now it's weapons pack time, and hopefully my much modded version of the Korea War mod will work. Can't wait to go chasing Mig 15's through the clouds in my 86A when the controls lock up at high mach. And spinning down through clouds in my Mig 15 should be even better.:cool:

Ps. If anyone is having a problem with the patch not finding the .exe, just use the browse function of the patch installation routine to point the patch at the strike fighters folder and you should have no problems. Make sure you've updated your video drivers, and downloaded the April 06 version of DX 9C as pointed out here. Hope the rest of you can get this working as well as it works on mine.

Bravo, TK and company. Bravo!
