It is hard to use the shape you are pointing since it is basically showing at least two parts, the fuselage and then parts of the landing gear.

 

You can shape the aiplane using the "Rib" method, but it will probably cost you in the number of poly's

What I would do is to create a Fuselage section and then sections for the landing gear housing. You can use the picture and trace a spline line (guess where the fuselage is), once the spline is closed, you can extrude it to create a shape.

 

You then can use the shape as a template to tweak the fuselage.

 

There are many ways to model and not one is the best, I know devs who do a poly by poly design, another method is using splines instead of starting with a pre-built shape.
