RTMabry Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 (edited) Installed Patch v07.10.06 and now I am having problems. The game launches, I get the UI screen and music, and then it minimizes to the task bar. I noticed that if I restart my computer the game will launch, but if I close it and try to launch it again, no joy. The game ran fine before. I don't know if the problem is because of the patch, Direct X or my updated video drivers. My install before the problems included: SFP1_sp051506b.exe SFP1_p052506.exe Thirdwire website now only shows the 05.15.06 service update and the 07.10.06 patch. I am having the same problem with WOV. So, I copied the problem installs to a different location and uninstalled both games and deleted the directories. Then I reintalled Project 1 from CD and updated it with the sp05.15.06 and then patch 07.10.06. The same problem exists. I am not getting any error messages displayed, however when I go into System Information/Software Environment/Windows Error Reporting I get 8/5/2006 8:13 AM Application Hang Fault bucket 308533534. 8/5/2006 8:13 AM Application Hang Hanging application FlightSim.exe, version 7.10.6.8, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000. Do you have any security software running in the background when you try to launch your game? Quote
RTMabry Posted August 5, 2006 Author Posted August 5, 2006 (edited) Do you have any security software running in the background when you try to launch your game? Still having the same problem with both SP-1 and WOV. I thought it was the video drivers, but after changing out the drivers the problem remains. Tried disabling anti-virus software, but it had no effect on the problem. Edited August 6, 2006 by RTMabry Quote

RTMabry Posted August 8, 2006 Author Posted August 8, 2006 I uninstalled the Nero DVD software, deleted the registry key and re-installed the software. However, this time I choose only to have it control DVD files instead of all files (i.e., wav, avi, etc.). I have been in and out of WOV several times and not once have I had it minimize to the taskbar. Maybe something in the NERO software was intercepting video from the game. I guess when I installed NERO and made it the default media player it was trying to intercept the game video. Quote
Aintry Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 (edited) There's a freeware program called 'Autoruns' that I use to monitor (and sometimes disable) background processes on my PC. You can download it from Majorgeeks.com if you're interested: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4686 Cheers, Tristan Edited August 10, 2006 by Tristan Quote
