Hah, See you did not read your Decal tutorial like I told you so :)

 

Use your Points helper in 3DS Max.

 

Go to the Left Viewport, place the point helper where you want your decal.

 

Open the Movement helper, the box that show the X,Y,Z coordinate

 

The Side decals need the Y and Z values. The Decal orientation will be RIGHT and LEFT.

 

 

Switch to the Top Vieport

 

Place your point helper where you want your decal

 

Look for the X and Y values, the decal orientation would be TOP and BOTTOM

 

The next decals are seldom used but just in case

 

Switch to the Back Viewport

 

Place your point helper

 

Look for the X and Z values, decal orientation would be FRONT and BACK
