Weapons question

Hello,

 

Is it possible to save what weapons you're carrying from mission to mission in COD2? What i mean is if I play a mission in the American Campaign, is there a way to keep my BAR and tommy gun in the next mission of the American Campaign?

I've not found a way to do this,I keep my main weapon.But not when you have 2 weapons.If you have a BAR then thats what you'll start with,if you have a Thompson then thats what you'll start with.
