Hello all, first i wanna say i think this game is great fun. Better than RB3D in most sense. But it just seems like the wingmen can't really hold together in formation, they sorta fly side to side in big wide movements. Somtimes i think they gonna crash into me. How could this be fixed? it would be nice to fly in a tight formation.

I don't have FE but I do have the other Third Wire productions that use the same game engine (SF,WOE,WOV) and they also have problems of the wingmen bouncing around and weaving while in formation. I forget off hand why, but it has something to do with how the AI in attempts to maintain formation goes to the extremes of a pre-defined box for the formation selected. So the AI flies the airplane all the way to the bottom, then all the way to the top, all the way to the left and all the way to the right. To date I have not had a wingman hit me in the other games.

As an aside, that's how the early LGB's worked, too. Flying down a laser-defined "box" and bouncing off the sides of it! This meant the surfaces were often deflecting a lot and often, which shortened range. Later models now try and fly down the center, with less deflecting of control surfaces, greater range, and greater accuracy. :good:

I see, well doing more diggin into the forums i see that alot have people tried to work on this already. So sad, this game has GREAT potential. Graphics are sweet. Just feels like i'm playing a Arcade game and the friendly AI is there just to add a size/immersive factor to the game but do little help. Like a YOU VS Nazi Army kinda feel. Well oh well, the future is bright for this game. Thanks for the replies
