Question regarding gunsights and color changes to above..

Currently the default colors for some of the gunsights tends to bleed into the terrain and sky..I was wondering about changing colors on these sites a bit..so I found the textures and checked them out in photoshop..pretty simple to do it seems..however, before I go about doing this I want to be sure that changes to the sights as far as colors won't affect the sim. Second, I am curious..is it possible to swap gunsights between aircraft, for instance taking the F4 sight and using it in the F100 pit..or the navy/marine A4 site in the above..as I've always preferred that gunsight anyway..The MK1 was always so simple to use..
