Dutchy 0 Posted May 6, 2003 In this week we remember in Europe the Second World War. In the Netherlands we think about the fallen on 4th may (from ww2 until now). Bevrijdingsdag (libaratorday) is on the fifth. That is the day that we are celabrate our victory of nazi Germany. On eight may, is the day the Europe was celabrate the victory. And the day after for the Russians their victory day. Next year is it sixty years ago that operation D-Day was in Normandy. Also Market Garden in Arnhem (the Netherlands) and Battle of the Bulge (Belgium). And this year is it 50 years ago that the Korean war ended. +pcpilot 181 Posted May 6, 2003 Yes, and all the brave resistance fighters in the Low Countries who fought bravely and well, and who kept the torch of freedom alive thru those long dark years, and who so ably assisted the Allied armies in their eventual march to victory. Salute to you good lads and lasses...
