Problem with Zeppelin mission

Recommended Posts

Downloaded the "Hitting the Zeppelins" mission.

Put it into the missions folder and unzip. All what needed is installed. Flanders terrain, aircrafts.

Put also the aircrafts into the mission folder.

The mission is not listed?

Any idea!

Hi Haac. First welcome to CombatACE. :good: I suggest you create a temporary folder and keep it to unzip all your downloads in. For me its easier to have all the zip's contents in front of me where I can read the readme for installation instructions and have an idea of what files are referenced in the instructions. Then you can just copy and paste or drag and drop the necessary files into the appropriate folders in the main FE folder. The only folder you need in your Missions folder is the mission file itself. All aircraft go in the Objects/Aircraft folder. A common mistake is having a folder nested inside another folder causing the game to be unable to read the contents of the folder. Anyway it sounds to me like you are having trouble keeping things sorted and in the proper places. Using a temp. folder helps a lot.

Hello Tailspin. I did it exactly that way! Install of the download in a temporary folder. I unzip it to the mission folder!

The mission is listed here as "Hitting the Zeppelins (Avro).msn". The aircrafts are in the object folder, Flandern terrain is in terrain folder.

In the game I can play the plans I need for this special mission all (Avro, Fokker).

Flandern is also a terrain that I can use!

The problem is that there is the mission not listed! I can choose the year 1914 also!

Hi Haac.

Check out the player plane name in the mission file, and make sure it tallies exactly with the aircraft name of both that plane's folder, and its INI file.

Just a hunch...

Hmmm....I just downloaded the Avro version and it worked. I'm going to ask a dumb question so please don't be insulted. Are you sure you are looking under the Load Mission tab in the game?

I guess it must be 1914 for this Zeppelin Hitting mission.

I had this problem. Then i realised i had only downloaded the 504c from bort and not the 504d as well. It's the 504d that is used in the mission.

Have you got both?

You should be seeing all the specific stock pre-scripted missions like FokkerD7F vs. Se5a (1v1), FokkerD7F vs. Se5a (2v2), FokkerD7F vs. SPAD13 (1v1), etc., etc. in the Mission Filename pulldown. Are any of those showing up?
