grumpapotamus Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Hello All, Just need somewhere to relieve my excitement. It seemed my alumni status doesn't count for a 3ds max license. So I just registered for a class on 3d modelling, which means more modelling to come! The class doesn't start until september, but I can't wait! Until then, I have been working on some skins. A UN c-130 based on the USAFsilver1 skin.(as I believe it is stock to SFP1) I have added an entry into the nations.ini as I noticed there was none. If anyone has any info on UN military stuff, let me know. It seems to b hard to find. I would love to redo alot of skins for aircraft and groundobjects. There is obviously a gap in this area. Quote
+suhsjake Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 The only combat aircraft that I heard that they used was the J-29B Tunnan in the Congo or somewhere in Africa. Other than that, they manly use cargo aircraft and cargo helios. UH-60, Mi-26 Halo, Mi-8 Hip, C-130, C-5, and a whole range of others. In ground units they used the Panhard AML, Feret Armored Car, LAV III, BTR-80, BTR-60, VAB (as seen in blackhawk down), M113, M60A1, HMMWV, Land Rovers, Warrior IFV, etc... Quote
+suhsjake Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Although, we do need a skysweeper, http://svsm.org/gallery/75mm_m51_skysweeper. I did one in my animation class but, becuase I did it on lightwave, I couldn't export it to 3ds max or lod format. It was just about done, damn programs. Quote
Guest Saganuay82 Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Right on Canuck. We have some national aircraft AKA CF100 and CF105 that could be taken under project when you start. Quote
grumpapotamus Posted May 30, 2007 Author Posted May 30, 2007 The CF-100 definately! The Arrow though... I don't think I could do it justice. But I would love to try! Quote

Indian Canberra B(I) 58s from No .5 Sqdn "Tuskers" saw action during the 1961 Congo Ops under the UN flag. These bombers were in fact flying as fighter bombers. They were denied use of bombs and just carried the belly gun pack as its armament. They attacked Katangan airflields and destroyed several Katangan AF aircraft including a couple of the much dreaded Fouga Magisters. The Canberras flew as escorts to UN transport and also flew CAS sorties in support of UN gound forces. I read that along with Swedish J-29s , Iranian and Ethiopian F-86s were involved in the 1961 Ops. Indian involvment in Congo and other African countries continues till date with Indian AF Mi-25s, Mi-17s and Chetak helos , Indian Army infantry and armour taking part actively in support of the UN. Guest Saganuay82 Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 There was a guy who started on the CF-100 but then he disappeared. That would be a great project to do. We had quite a few in service as well we sold them to the Belgians. CF105 will make its way to fight one day in this game I am sure. Quote
