How to aim & shoot with Fokker D VII ?

Maybe I am too stupid for this, but without a gunsight I am not sure how to aim and shoot down any enemy plane.

 

Which way do you solve this? Just blind shooting until any bullet will hit?

The way I do it is look to see where the tracers are going while looking straight ahead then fix that point on the screen. Its usually centered between the gun sights and a little above a horizontal line going through the crosshairs. OH and get CLOSE.
