Mike463 Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 (edited) Much as I love Third Wire, I've found that multiple bomb explosions lag my system. Is there a way to reduce the particle size of bomb explosions (NOT balloons bursting) or duration of the fireballs for First Eagles? Yours, Mike Edited December 25, 2007 by Mike463 Quote
+Tailspin Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 I don't know if this will help but have you tried setting the Effects Detail in the options menu to Medium? Quote
Mike463 Posted December 26, 2007 Author Posted December 26, 2007 All settings were set to low. I definitely take a frame hit due to smoke generated after hitting a convoy on armed recon. No problems with the archies or balloons bursting however. Yours, Mike Quote
Guest capun Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 What are your system specs? and have you done the flightengine.ini mods? Search CA for the mods if you don't know it, they may be even posted in the SFP1 Knowledge Database Effects, specially smoke effects, have been known to cause stutter with low end systems. Quote
+Tailspin Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 System specs? I have a 1.8 P4, GeF 3, 512mb DDR and it runs OK on med. settings (12-35 fps...depending) but if I turn ground object detail to high it really eats up frames. Maybe your system just can't handle rendering the extra ground objects and the smoke/fire effects together? Quote
Mike463 Posted December 27, 2007 Author Posted December 27, 2007 Problem solved. What I did was go into the folders in Objects/Aircraft and Ground, then Configuration Settings for the individual aircraft/weapon and change specular, glossiness, and reflection to 0.00000 for each. Same was done in texture set for aircraft skins. Frame rates with settings set to medium has been superb. With cockpit on I'm getting frame rates of 40-50. Yours, Mike Quote
