navychief Posted August 7, 2003 Posted August 7, 2003 When I was at NATC Patuxent River in the early 1970s, there was an A-7A Corsair, BUNO 152650 that was assigned to North Site Maintenance. The aircraft was eventually retired, and sent to NAS Cecil Field to become a "gate guard" for the base. In 1998, NAS Cecil Field was closed by the BRAC commission, but I have not been able to find out what happened to the display Corsair.
