PG_Raptor 0 Posted August 21, 2003 I've got a cable modem. Sometimes I'll look at the performance of the netwrok (using Ctrl+Alt+Del), to see how much it is using. I've noticed that at several times, it only functions at less than 1%, 2.5 - 3% at most. I would think that it would use the entire thing to download stuff as fast as possible. (for example, I've got a download going right now thats only using .17%). Am I wrong in my assumption? or is my network not performing at its best?
PG_Raptor 0 Posted August 21, 2003 Huh... I switch from flightsim.com to avsim.com, and I go from 9 KB/sec to about 400 KB/sec. Much better, but its still only at 2-3%. weird. Oh well :)
MadJeff 3 Posted August 21, 2003 That's your local LAN connection, which is probably running at 100Mb. Even on a fast 1.5Mb cable connection that would only show as 1.5% of your network usage.
