Can you see an inbound Sam or airborne missle coming at you?

The best way is just to pause it then hit ctrl-f12 and you can zoom and boom anround any part of the map, thats the best you can do. Also there is a weapon view command for when you drop ordanence and you might try ctl-f9 although I never have.

I find what works best for me is to hit F-10 for externat flyby view and avoid that way This same method also works for me in avoiding the AAA ground gunfire.
