So, my question is ¿is it possible to edit .str files (like SPEECHTEXT.STR, AIRCRAFTTEXT.STR, etc)? I mean, I opened SPEECHTEXT.STR with Notepad in order to edit the callsigns that appear on subtitles, but seems like the file format isn't plain text, because the game won't load beyond 10% when I try to use an edited SPEECHTEXT.STR. Thank you in advance.
Heck Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there's any way to edit .str files. You can edit the ini files and some have even modded .lods using a hex editor, but, as I believe Fubar has pointed out, if you alter the .dlls, or the .strs, then the files fail their final checksum and the game won't load. Don't think there's any way to do it. Heck
