BFawlty Posted October 3, 2003 Posted October 3, 2003 Hey all, back after a long layoff, just wondering if there are some tutorials out there to help with installing mods, add ons etc. Specifically I am a little concerned about placing a soundlist.ini in the flight folder. I get asked to confirm that I want to replace the one in there. I'm not sure if I want to do that or not. Is replacing the one in there going to screw up another a/c I have in there? Also is anybody else having trouble downloading files from Bio? Thanks BF
+Dagger Posted October 5, 2003 Posted October 5, 2003 theres really no tutorial but i might ask what sounds you're changing as you might be able to just cut and paste the new lines into the new ini.
moon161 Posted October 7, 2003 Posted October 7, 2003 Well, yes it could hose your install. You do still have the CD right? Worst case is uninstall, reinstall and reapply mods. I find each mod more or less explained by reading the readme file that comes with it. If you back up soundlist.ini by copying it to soundlist.old, you can append it and just restore the old one if you CTD. BTW if you don't see the soundlist.ini in /flight you have to extract it (look around for the sfp1 cat extractor) if a the mod doesn't come with a complete copy. Good luck, and remember windows users- format is your friend ;-)
