Missing dll

Well ive had a nics christmas surprise*...just got back from AK and finally had the chance to play SFP1 and when I try to do any thing, the screen goes black and an error message comes up talking about how "d3dx9_31.dll" is missing. Can anyone help me out? If it matters, I uploaded the Oct2008 patch and am running XP.
