the multi player thing is a bit tough due to all parties needing to have all the same mods to play.

Hamachi seems to be the best way for most folks to connect. We are using hyperlobby as a means to meet up before starting a game either through hyperlobby or hamachi. A guy can host from hyperlobby, and if he has a hamachi server open, people can join from there as well. That seems to be the best option for the host. The Oct08 patch is not a good multiplay patch because of all the UFO's involved, and it's exceeding long load times. Most of us are using a stock 8.30.06 install for multiplay. Hopefully sometime in the future TK will address the MP issues but don't hold your breath. In the meantime we are having a blast playing what we already have that works.

 

So, how do you set up a hamachi network with no password? I didn't know you could do that. Please tell me how.

Click on name of network (but it must be your network), click more details...

 

and change that...

 

and click "OK"
