Flight Leader (?)

Good Friday to All,

On some of the mission briefing descriptions, it does not explicitly state whom is the flight leader. Other missions, the leader is specified. For example, it may be displayed as:

 

Hans Geobles

August Wienner (Player)

Thomas Kruger (Wingman)

 

Is the first listed pilot by default the flight leader? I always check the duty roster to cross ref names-ranks, but this is does not always resolve the ?. The rankings for the naval flight officers are somewhat confusing. My system is set to lead by Rank. I have had issues with Seafrossa I, in that the "leader" A?C with "Leader" label (will continually circle the field and not follow the flight plan. If I try to assume flight leader duties, no other pilot will follow me, even with manual directions. If this still to be addressed in an upcoming patch, please for excuse me.
