bad_karma_2one Posted December 19, 2003 Posted December 19, 2003 IRL the harrier has a tank of water in it to cool the engine during hovering (NOT VIFFing) will this be included in the FM so that you have a limited duration before the engine begins to over heat Will we be able to mod the game to have a second more modern campaign "Falklands II" with more modern aircraft like the FA2 with the AMRAAM and the detachment of six Tornado ADV's that are based there now? bad_karma_2one Posted December 19, 2003 Author Posted December 19, 2003 Also in a recent documentary the program says that the harrier is susceptable to the hot exhaust being re-injested in the hover, which causes the engine to gradually loose power, and causes the harrier to begin to decend faster and faster, the only way out is to get a few knots of forward speed so that you get cold air into the intake and have the hot air to the rear of the aircraft Quote
scary_pigeon Posted December 20, 2003 Posted December 20, 2003 We are aware of these features of the harrier and will put them in in some way. One thing though - the need to use water is only necessary in hotter parts of the world. with regards to falklands 2... ...british defences are pathetic - we've built them a nice new shiny airbase that are defended by 2 tornados - Theres nothing that could stop an argie invasion now and what is worse - they'd have an airbase to imediately station fast jets there with all the necessary facilities. What has britain got now - a few small carriers... that in the next year or so are having the sea harrier decomissioned infavour of ground attack radarless(!) GR7's and GR8's. Quote

But yeah, in 5 years time its a different story. I think right now, the indian navy is getting our sea harriers. Quote
