February 1917 Escadrille N311 at airfield Choux in Alsace.

 

I'd had enough of the war and decided to see if I could fly south to warmer climates.. visit the Mediterranean in sunny Italy, so started my flight toward Switzerland and over the Alps. I didn't get that far, I kept getting hit by up drafts and down drafts and one finally killed me, but it sure was a beautiful flight:

Well, at least you had a little break on your excursion. Great, that even in terrain we hardly

would fly, turbulences appear; makes it sound even more realistic.
