If you feel it's necessary to re-install, go ahead. I'd take FC's advice and make a backup of your install once you've got it patched up and configured to your liking.

It also wouldn't hurt to try dropping that windloop.wav sound file you downloaded into the Sounds folder once you're back up and running - try it without modifying anything else and see if it works. (Back up the original windloop.wav first, though).

Thank you. But, I have tried exactly following these steps and I can not get anything to work. All I ever touched was the soundlist.ini file. I think it is time to throw in the towel and pull out the original installation disk again and start over. I sure would have like to get that new radio chatter working. It is a shame that it is so difficult.

It's not that difficult at all. In fact I saw the soundlist.ini in the Cat file so I know you don't have to reinstall the entire game. Just extract a new one.

Modding is all about trial and error. More of the latter, than the former in most cases. FC gave you very detailed instructions on how to make things easier on you.

I did this but it didn't make a difference.

Then you must have edited something else that you didn't mention.
