+X RAY 83 Posted May 28, 2009 It's official that US DoD reveals 30 and more years after his first cloning experiment. In the middle 70's after the Vietnam conflict US wondering a complete new generation of well trained pilots to gain air superiority in all scenarios. In the Nam war, after the initial phase where the pilots were dependent upon missiles the air dominance was gained by a few pilots that switched back to guns and became top scoring aces. USAF and USN worked closer together and in the last warfare years estabilished main schools to teach again the lost art of dogfighting. But only now we know that there was a great ambitious program behind the scenes: Cloning the first ace pilot, the best pilot ever seen. USAF share his top scoring Nam ace genes to that project and USN did the same. Steve RITCHIE,USAF top scoring ace from 555th Triple Nickel + Randy CUNNINGHAM,USN top scoring ace from VF-96 Fighting Falcons = But the result was unpredictable... RITCHIE CUNNINGHAM from HAPPY DAYS Notorious but not an ace. The program was left over in a few time.
