Last WW1 aviator has died

Recommended Posts

I notice on the news this morning the last RNAS pilot and founder member of the Royal Air Force Henry Allingham has died aged 113 years.

He was an observer at the Battle of Jutland and later flew on the western front.

He gave the reason for his longlevity as "Whiskey, cigarettes and women!"

God bless and rest in peace.

Now, the WW1 sinks a bit more in the darkness of the past, as no voice will tell us how was "the war to end all wars" from the sky.

I´ll have to re-read my Peter Kilduff books...that´s what we have now.
