Mike Dora 171 Posted August 23, 2009 Been having a bit of bother in OFF with momentary "whited-out" tiles when I look around fast with my TrackIR. They only show for a fraction of a second, but it's enough to destroy the immersion factor. Tried various tweaks to try to fix this, and in the process have found that I can't get the cfs3config utility to hold any Antialiasing setting other than "None". If I set it to "2 samples" or "4 samples" or "8 samples" then close it, when I reopen it's back to "None". Has anyone else experienced this, how does one fix it? Thanks Mike

Thanks Mike Mike, EVERYONE has experienced it. It accepts the command "8 x samples", but when you leave, and return it is blank, but the 8 x sample is active. A "glitch", but I have it on good authority it works. Have a look at Homeboy's settings and see if they work. Many people here have experienced great frame rate improvements using them. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php/topic/38949-my-game-settings/ Edited August 23, 2009 by Check Six

Thanks Mike Mike, Check Six's post is correct...there is a glitch in the cfsconfig utility. Keep in mind that Homeboy's tweaks are for nVidia. Uncleal is correct that more, faster video memory helps. CPU speed, memory timings, video bus speeds can have an effect, too. I experienced artefacts like yours until I reset overclocked memory to SPD timings. But you can safely ignore Uncleal's comments about ATI. While there are differences in performance between nVidia and ATI, there are many happy ATI users here. If you do in fact have an ATI, the tweaks can be found at http://www.overflandersfields.com/Tips.htm Most users here have reported good performance with the latest 9.7 Catalyst drivers. If you want to set AA and AF through Catalyst, it's a simple process. PM me if you need more info. Good luck
