I know I gotta be patient, but I can't wait to d/l this. Quote
PG_Raptor Posted March 16, 2004 Posted March 16, 2004 Wow, now I realize why its taken so long for them to get this one out... Though I have to ask, does this patch fix the problem with the training missions that 1.01 had? Quote
SlickWili Posted March 16, 2004 Posted March 16, 2004 This list undoubtedly explains why several of the 1.02 betas tested by Carl and the others went back to the drawing board. Quote
Bard Posted March 18, 2004 Posted March 18, 2004 fix something - break something else - almost like microsoft security patches :D Quote
SlickWili Posted March 18, 2004 Posted March 18, 2004 Here's the March 17th update on LOMAC v1.02 beta 4.... Several of the Testers, Matt, and myself played a multiplayer session last night with the Beta 4 build of V1.02. There are several problems we encountered but overall it worked very well. While the range and performance of the AIM-120s appears to be where it should be, there is a big problem when ECM is used by the Russian aircraft. The AIM-120s are totally ineffective in MP with jammers being use by the targets. The missles not only missed but they performed very strangely. Obviously a bug that needs to be worked out. Without jammers they performed very well. We also discovered a problem when players respawned in a session. Often the player's keyboard commands would not function, the aircraft would respawn over another aircraft, or the player would appear on the ramp to all the other players even though the player was actually flying in the session. Another bug that needs to be fixed. There were a few minor problems associated with radar lock warnings and launch warnings but these should be cleared up as well. The sessions we flew with the A-10 were outstanding. We all commented while flying and chatting with Ventrilo how great the A-10 mission was and how much fun we were having. Personally, I love that Warthog! The new HUD symbology added to the A-10 HUD is great. We confirmed last night that the previous problems with clients not being able to see loadouts or WP smoke has been fixed. The A-10 is a blast! That's a quick report on our testing efforts last night with multiplayer. Work continues but things look like we are almost there. But anything can happen so no promises. Cheers, Carl Quote
SlickWili Posted March 23, 2004 Posted March 23, 2004 March 21st update from Carl on the v1.02 beta testing: Matt updated this thread on Friday when we received a new build of the V1.02 Beta. Today is Sunday. Not even two day have gone by. We are not going to give daily updates. The new version we received on Friday is looking very good, but there are still some problems that need to be fixed. Many of the MP problems I discussed concerning the previous build last week have been fixed. I am not going to give you a patch release date because it would be a guess and I am not going to guess. It should be soon, but since I cannot predict how long it will take to fix the remaining problems we have identified how can I guess? Add to the mix the possibility of either new problems being discovered or newly created with the next build and you can appreciate that an exact date for release is just not something I can accurately provide. If I give any date and we miss it then many of you get upset. Sorry, no dates are going to be provided. We are getting close but this takes time. Please be patient. Carl Quote
SlickWili Posted April 6, 2004 Posted April 6, 2004 Here's the March 31st update on the patch. I've gone ahead and stripped all the whine-warnings, for your convenience. ;) (snip)the V1.02 Patch is not ready to be released.. Hopefully soon, but not as soon as this Friday. We get a new Beta version every Friday. Last Friday's version had some problems. Currently, there about a dozen or so things that we need to have addressed. We need to verify that these problems have been fixed and ensure there are no additional problems introduced as a result of the changes to the code to fix the identified problems. That means we need a new version on Friday that we will then test over the upcoming weekend and into early next week. The process also includes testing the final installation routine for the Patch. Then Ubi Soft will most likely want to add their copy protection scheme to the release candidate, which will require some more testing, and then they will have to conduct final master test verification to the release candidate to ensure that the installation and copy protection function properly. Once all that is finished successfully they will give their final approval to the patch for release. With everything approved for release they will then have to go through the process of uploading the patch to their FTP site, create the links and announcements, and also distribute the patch to various mirror sites. (snip)This is not going to happen by tomorrow, or by this Friday. (snip)Thank you for your continued patience. We appreciate your understanding and your support. Best Wishes, Carl Quote
SlickWili Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 .......and the April 9th update on v1.02 for LOMAC from Carl: I played for a few hours tonight both multiplayer and single mission. The performance seems to be better. Everyone online tonight in our test session noted better framerates. The connection speed routines have been improved and seem to have made a big difference for MP. The SAM problems occur in multiplayer. They work most of the time, but there are some instances where they still blow up right after launch, but not as much as before. Many of us were shot down regularly tonight by Hawks, Patriots, S300s, and Strelas. There are new label settings using the LUA scripting that might be creating some label problems. We need to spend more time looking at the configuration files to see if it is just a simple settings feature. Overall, very positive. We are encouraged. More testing this weekend. We appreciate your patience. Cheers, Carl Quote
