Ras Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 On Wednesday, Nov 11, is a special day. There are a number of different names for it. In the USA, it was originally called Armistice Day and later changed to Veterans Day. Though I am not sure when that occurred, I am posting a few pics that were also posted by a fellow veteran of the Vietnam War. I don't know my history at all of the cemeteries in France and Germany of WW1, and many of you have seen these before. But with his permission I will start this thread so WE SHALL NEVER FORGET. The first photo is of the Meuse-Argonne cemetery with the second being the L'Escadrille Lafayette Memorial (I thnk)
UK_Widowmaker Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 (edited) This is the picture that always sums it up for me. I find it a very powerful image..it just sums up the futility of the whole f***ing thing Edited November 10, 2009 by UK_Widowmaker
