K. Lynn 0 Posted January 31, 2010 I've noticed several posts and I've done one myself on runtime 480 error messages. I started having problems with the error messages about 3 weeks ago right after I loaded the 1.47 patch for HITR. I've NEVER had any problem with the game up until that time. Since then I've reinstalled BHAH and HITR four times. I'm still encountering the error messages. I reloaded BHAH and installed up to the 1.32g patch tonight and received the runtime error message. The runtime error always occurs after I fly some type of mission, quick combat, campaign mission, etc. I'm at my wits end. I've tried everything I can think of to fix the problem, i.e., running gamebooster to turn off unnecessary background programs, run cc cleaner, registry cleaners, and moved the sliders down a notch in CONFIG. I did a complete reinstall of Windows XP in December. I'm hoping that someone can tell me what I need to do to get the game running properly. My specs are listed below: Dell Inspiron 530 Intel® Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40 GHz Galaxy GE Force 9600GT Low Power/Profile Video Card w/512 MB of Video RAM 4 GIG of RAM My sliders in config are 3, 4, 2, 2, 3, 2 Eagerly awaiting a response and let me know what other information you need. Thanks for the help.
sitting_duck 3 Posted January 31, 2010 If your talking about the runtime error when you start from the off manager,,and you have to exit, and then get to restart again without a problem, seems like a lot of us are getting it. Other than the hassele of having to start twice, doesnt seem to interfere with game play at all. If this is the same error you are having, i wouldnt consider reloading, doubt that its going to go away.

Thanks for all the input..................the runtime errors that I'm getting are occuring immediately after I attempt to exit a free flight mission from the quick combat screen. I've done another reinstallation using Uncleal's inputs and patched the game all the way to 1.47. I've attempted to fly three free flight missions from quick combat and have experienced the runtime 480 error after each flight. After the second one I attempted to move the sliders back a notch. That didn't help. I'm hoping someone might have some other suggestions short of reloading windows again. Looking forward to a response. Thanks.
Herr Prop-Wasche 7 Posted February 1, 2010 If you are running XP, make sure you have Service Pack 3 installed. Also, update your directX.
K. Lynn 0 Posted February 1, 2010 Now that's a strange one for you, I've close to the identical machine, and I've never experienced it. Never trouble, trouble, till trouble, troubles you. Meaning: If doesn't stop you from running, I'd forget about it You could hit Reset CFS3 Files in Workshop, but be aware you WILL LOSE all your Pilots, if you do I think I got it up and running.................I did some tweaking of the NVIDIA card in the control center and the game using all the suggestions found here in the forum. I've flown three quick combat missions and two campaign missions (and died.....lol) and everything seems to be working fine (knock on wood). Thank you all so much for the help. Its really appreciated. This is a great game and an even better community.
