Fortiesboy 3 Posted July 19, 2010 Hi I presently use an XGA projector which creates a 137cm x 80 cm image with a throw of 210 cm. It is used in a darkened room ( the window blind is the screen ) . I play flight sims - OFF, FSX STrikefighters, and IL2 mainly. Now that graphics cards can support 19xx etc resolutions ( I understand my nVidia GTX does ) I was thinking of upgrading to a 1080p Native resolution projector. I was concerned that I would not be able to connect the output (DVI?) of the graphics card to the HDMI input of the projector. I think now that I can do that via an adaptor- without loss of signal quality? I have found some projectors which i think would be suitable http://www.projectors.co.uk/search.asp?searchbox2=1080p%20Full%20HD&templateid=175 However, what puzzles me a little is that there are XGA etc ( much, much lower resolution projectors, like the one I have ) still selling for more than those above. How come? Is there a downside in using these 1080p native resolution projectors with computers for flight sims, ( as opposed to using them for films? ) Is anyone here expert enough to give firm advice. It would be much appreciated. TIA I live in the UK
