This is a great win for general aviation. When I was up in Oshkosh, there were planes everywhere that had a green, sport-pilot eligible tag on them. This what I'm going to get now, and then use it as stepping stone to my full private. But this way it's cheaper, and our luscombe qualifies for all the weight, speed, and crew limitations. That is great, now maybe I can afford my PPL. It's been 8 years since I started when I was 18, and had to quit b/c it was so bloody expensive.
