For all of those new to Biohaz, welcome! I would like to invite all of you to visit the Folding@Home forum way down at the bottom of the page. There are many interesting forums down there, so please don't just stick to the pub and the LOMAC forum. Become an active member of the community, and you will be glad you did!

I would also like to invite join in our effort to make the top 100 in folding. You can find out more about folding here. In short, it uses your extra CPU power not used by other programs to help find cures for many diseases. There used to be some promotional videos, but I don't know where they're at anymore... Someone still have those? Anyways, please join us!

The Biohaz Folding team is hanging at at around 156-160 in worldwide stats. This a pretty good achievement but we can do better and break into the top 100. Folding uses your idle computer to crunch Proteins for Stanford University. How it works is it Downloads a Work Unit, your machine uses its idle time to crunch the WU (may take days for one work unit). When it is done it uploads the results and obtains a new WU. Points are assigned to a WU, and Teams all over the world compete to the cause. The Protiens folded are those that cause diseases and are folded to work on cures for diseases that loved ones may have or for that matter that any one of us may get.

Join the fold, its legit and its for a good cause.

Cheers
