New game sends 'dangerous message' to journos

 

A group of software developers from Brisbane is creating a computer game in which the players are war correspondents reporting from a conflict zone.

 

What interested me about this was how this concept somehow crossed the line for some into "War Porn" yet the current COD series, Halo, Gears of War etc don't...? I mean if one of these concepts is going to desensitise, glorify or reward players in such a way as to produce tangible effects, I wouldn't have thought chronicling someone's story from a war zone would be it. Then again, there have been an increasing number of kids in my neighbourhood running around in khakis, light blue shirts and kevlar vests talking in British sounding accents lately...
