All together... $2580 Shipped.

A couple weeks ago we had a major Winter Storm, and the power fluctuations zapped my PSU and Mobo on my old machine. Being that machine was about 5 years old (AMD 939pin/ with 2GB Ram and ATI 1900 XTX GPU), Insurance wasn't going to give me anything to replace it.

I'm sure there are many machines and builds that may perform as well for less, but with Intel announcing they do not plan to continue support for the 1366 Socket and older CPU's it just made sense to me to bite the bullet and move forward with a X79 Chipset and 2011 Socket. Unfortunately that limits me to 2 possible CPU's, and Intel issued a PCN (Product Change Notification) to both of them. However they will be shipping the new chips in January, and Bios updates will resolve current chip issues.

Plan on doing a review on everything when complete.
