Actually, I haven't found a problem converting any of the SF2 helicopter models to series 1 standards. This includes the Apaches and all the fine reworks of JimBeamer5.

Take for instance the Apache. With a little time, a little notepad and some copy/paste, the following method should work with most (if not all) SF2 helicopter conversions.

In the AH-64A folder,

1 - Open the AH-64A ini. In the top right corner click on 'File'. In the drop down box, select 'Save as..'. At the bottom of the dialogue box you will see 'Encoding:'. Switch this from Unicode to ANSI. Click save and overwrite.

2 - Open the USArmy skin folder. Open the TextureSet ini and using the same process as above, save to ANSI.

3 - Open the Weapons folder. Using the process from step one, open each folder and change the inis to ANSI format.

4 - Open the Guns folder, and save both inis to ANSI format.

Now, SF2 uses a different format/layout for RWR designations in SF2. You will need to change your RWR setting in each SF2 aircraft that you convert to have it properly show in Series 1. The main difference is changing the Type= back to the Series 1 standard of Type=3_RING.

5 - Open the AH-64A avionics ini. Scroll down to the RWR section. Delete the [RWR] entry and replace with the following:

[RWR]

Type=3_RING

AirSearchTexture=cockpit\RWR\AirSearch.tga

AirTrackTexture=cockpit\RWR\AirTrack.tga

AirLockTexture=cockpit\RWR\AirLock.tga

GroundSearchTexture=cockpit\RWR\SurfaceSearch.tga

GroundTrackTexture=cockpit\RWR\SurfaceTrack.tga

GroundLockTexture=cockpit\RWR\SurfaceLock.tga

SearchPosition=0.90

TrackPosition=0.55

LockPosition=0.16

SearchSize=0.16

TrackSize=0.16

LockSize=0.16

SearchFlash=FALSE

TrackFlash=TRUE

TrackFlashRate=0.2

LockFlash=TRUE

LockFlashRate=0.1

TrackSound=RWRTrackSound.wav

LockSound=LaunchWarn.wav

This will get you flying the AH-64A in Series 1. Following that format and ensuring all ini's written in Unicode are saved as ANSI should put you on the right track when converting the other helicopters.
