Bouncing DLC Spits

For those (like me) who have new spitfires that bounce until they burn, try renaming your options.ini in the saved folder and then restart the game and get it to generate a new one. This seemed to solve the problem for me after some trial and error - even after going back to the Jul2012 patch.

 

I'm not sure why it worked but it worked. I'll let those wiser than me provide an explanation.

More testing...  It wasn't the new options.ini, it was switching landings from hard to normal under game play options.
