Il-2 mods

DBW, HSFX, UP3, these are the main mods for legendary IL-2.

 

What are the differences between them, and basically which one is the best?

It's really hard to say, it's like you have two more sites like this one which make each their own super modded add-ons. I tried HSFX and UP they are both pretty cool, didn't try the DBW, actually I don't even know which one is that...

DBW: Dark blue world.   I'm planning to get one of this mods precisely 'cause of beautiful campaigns and graphics I saw for Africa, Italy and Spanish civil war for one of these mods, but I don't know which.

I don't know either buddy, I was primarily an online player so I didn't mess much with the campaigns, I played them with original il2 and a bit in il2FB but then got hooked up on multiplayer...

DBW is offline play only. No multiplayer. I love it, but I don't like to play online, so it is good for me.

Do you have to pay for those mods? Or are they freeware?

All these mods are fantastic, in their own way, and free as the air!
