Smoke Generators

When im setting the payload for my plane there is something called smoke generator.

How can i turn it on? I've tried hitting "T" but it gives me standard red & green tray. What should i do to make it work?

Is it the AIM-9 shape? I reckon, though only putzed with it once, that you

cycle through A2A ordnance `til selected, depress pickle button for smoke emission...

I asked this question a while back on the SimHQ board and was told that it doesnt work. It's a shape only. Now if someone has gotten it to work, I'd like to know. I've tried to cycle to it and hit the pickle, but nada.
