ckelly14 Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Flying the F-4, F-14 and F/A 18 with carrier and ground landings, and wondering if any of these birds has ILS modeled. If they do, how do I call it up? Quote
Caesar Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 For the F-14 (and probably F/A-18), put the HUD in NAV mode, and it should kick over to ILS automatically after you pass Waypoint 8. Quote

ckelly14 Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 Never mind, it's the ' key. I was looking for a keystroke with NAV in the name, not CAGED. Thanks. Quote
ckelly14 Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 Do carriers have an ILS system modeled in SF2? Quote
Caesar Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Well, if you mean Frensel Lens Optical Landing System/Meatball, no, carriers in SF2 (including NA) don't have this. I recall someone (maybe FastCargo?) had toyed with one that worked based on visible lights and aircraft/player angle to the setup, but I don't think it made it very far. If you mean "does the aircraft's ILS work with carriers," yes, it does, until you're just about on the deck. You kind of have to spot the deck just as you're getting to the fantail. Quote
