Luftwaffe Stab

Hi:

 

A small question about the Stab in each Jagdgeschwader(Kommodore flight).

There is a Stab flight for each Gruppe, Stab I, Stab II and Stab III.

That mean 36 aircrafts for each Gruppe(3 staffels each)and 4 aircraft more for the Stab, 40 in total.

Three Gruppen, including the three Stabs:120 aircrafts(in paper of course)

Then,and here come the question: there are still four aircrafts more for the Geschwader Stab?

About the ID numbers. very rarely see highers as 14(Battle of Britain periode)

The numbers are usually going from 1 to 12, as the aircraft are numbered-through.

A 13 was often used for the Kommandeur or Kommodore (unless they used a conventionel wedge).
